Modalities

There is a rhythm to the modality of Zodiac signs, once you get it. It mirrors the seasons, as a sign begin in Cardinal, then settles in Fixed and is then open up to change in Mutable time frames.

Like the elements, this is also a grouping of the signs but it’s twelve signs into three groups which further differentiates yet also bring their similarities in one way or another together. The way these signs engage with the outside world.

 

Cardinal Signs

The initiators: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn

These signs falls on either a solstice or an equinox and the change of seasons. The four zodiac classified under Cardinal signs are represented by the four seasons respectively. For example: Aries (Spring), Cancer (Summer), Libra (Autumn) and lastly Capricorn (Winter). You will notice that these signs falls on the start of each seasons, thus they are the initiators in the zodiacs or should I say from each of their element. Cardinal signs are assertive, enterprising and at times seemingly aggressive too.

 

Fixed  

The finishers: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius

These signs falls in the middle of the respective seasons and the four zodiac classified under the Fixed signs are represented by the four seasons as follows:- Taurus (Spring) , Leo (Summer), Scorpio (Autumn), Aquarius (Winter). And they all fall in the middle of each season thus making them have the traits of being reliable, determined and able to offer stability. They can also be stubborn and cannot adjust to changes at times. Overall, they are goal-oriented and will most of the time accomplish what they set out to do.

 

Mutable Signs
